Demi Moore has redefined the concept of a swan dress. Departing from the campy yet iconic gown famously worn by Björk, Moore chose a strapless Balmain creation adorned with black and white beads meticulously forming the image of a majestic bird with beaded feathers cascading from the side. Striking a balance between stylish and slightly extravagant, it was the perfect choice for the occasion: the premiere of FX’s “Feud: Capote vs. The Swans.”
The premiere, centered around Truman Capote and the sophisticated New York socialites who inspired his last novel, witnessed the entire star-studded cast, including Diane Lane, Chloë Sevigny, Naomi Watts, Tom Hollander, Molly Ringwald, and Calista Flockhart, honoring the cultural moment by donning black-and-white attire. However, it was Moore who boldly embodied a Park Avenue “swan,” incorporating an actual bird motif into her ensemble. In the Ryan Murphy–produced series, Moore takes on the role of Ann Woodward, a character entangled in a notorious 1955 incident where she shot and killed her husband.
Adding a delightful touch to her look on Instagram, Moore introduced another charming element: her tiny pup Pilaf. Given the longstanding trend of small dogs as coveted accessories, Moore couldn’t resist holding him for the pictures. Pilaf, donning a tiny black harness in theme with the attire, added a playful dimension to the ensemble.
While Pilaf didn’t grace the red carpet, Moore adorned herself with black-and-white accessories, including a ring and matching earrings, along with silver bangles. Not to be overlooked, Moore’s ever-present red Kabbalah string, while not a conventional accessory, remained an integral part of her distinctive look.
As “Capote vs. The Swans” premieres on January 31, anticipation is high not only for the intriguing storyline but also for the captivating fashion statements that are sure to unfold.
