Bringing their magic from the land of Oz to the Oscars stage, Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, who portray Galinda and Elphaba in the upcoming movie musical “Wicked,” joined forces to present at the 96th Academy Awards.

Dressed in character-inspired attire, with Erivo donning Elphaba’s iconic green hue and Grande dazzling in Galinda’s signature pink, the dynamic duo took the stage to announce the winners for Best Original Song and Best Original Score.

As they stood side by side, Erivo highlighted the importance of movie songs in setting the tone and revealing character depth, while Grande emphasized the emotional impact of film scores in captivating audiences and transporting them to different realms of imagination.

Quoting the timeless lyrics of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” Erivo and Grande paid homage to Judy Garland’s legendary portrayal of Dorothy Gale, evoking nostalgia and anticipation for their own rendition of the beloved characters in “Wicked.”

Directed by Jon M. Chu, the highly anticipated adaptation of “Wicked” will feature Grande as Galinda/Glinda the Good Witch and Erivo as Elphaba/the Wicked Witch of the West. Scheduled for release on Nov. 27, 2024, the film promises to enchant audiences with its captivating storytelling and spellbinding performances.
