Apart from the lead quartet of Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ryan Phillippe, Reese Witherspoon, and Selma Blair, Cruel Intentions boasted a stacked supporting cast that included Joshua Jackson, Christine Baranski, Tara Reid, and Sean Patrick Thomas.

Jackson, now 45, portrayed the flamboyant Blaine Tuttle, a character starkly different from his role as the small-town heartthrob Pacey Witter in Dawson’s Creek.

Baranski, now 71, delivered a standout performance as Bunny Caldwell, the overbearing mother of Cecile, played by Blair.

Reid, now 48, had a brief but impactful role as Marci Greenbaum, Sebastian’s therapist’s daughter. Her portrayal in Cruel Intentions was a stepping stone to her subsequent success, notably starring as Vicky in American Pie shortly after.

Thomas, 53, played Ronald Clifford, Blair’s character’s music teacher. Following Cruel Intentions, Thomas went on to star in various films, including the beloved teen romance Save the Last Dance.

Directed by Roger Kumble and based on Pierre Choderlos de Laclos’ novel Dangerous Liaisons, Cruel Intentions captivated audiences with its provocative storyline and memorable performances. Its enduring popularity even led to a television series adaptation.

As we celebrate this milestone anniversary, it’s a testament to the film’s lasting impact and the talented ensemble that brought it to life.
