Robin Wright, known for her role as Jenny in the iconic film Forrest Gump, shared her experience filming a memorable scene in the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool in Washington, D.C.
Recalling the moment in an interview with DC Film Girl’s Lauren Veneziani, Wright, now 57, warned against wading through the pool, describing the water as “very dirty.”
“I think, I was told — maybe you know differently — that I was the first person to ever be able to step foot in that water. Very, very dirty water. Don’t do it. Don’t try this at home,” she humorously cautioned.
Wright revealed that there were unexpected items, including Coke cans, at the bottom of the pool during filming.
Forrest Gump, celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, was a critical and commercial success, winning six Oscars, including Best Picture. The film, starring Tom Hanks, Gary Sinise, and Sally Field, remains beloved by audiences worldwide.
In addition to reminiscing about Forrest Gump, Wright discussed her latest project, Damsel, where she portrays Queen Isabelle alongside Millie Bobby Brown, Angela Bassett, and Nick Robinson.
Reflecting on filming Damsel in Portugal, Wright shared moments of laughter with the cast amid the scorching summer heat.
Damsel is set to premiere on Netflix this Friday, offering viewers a new cinematic adventure.
